What is internet Marketing?

Internet marketing is nothing but your normal marketing, just the medium happens to be internet. People don’t understand the concept clearly but when explained in business terms, they find it really simple. So basically what is internet marketing?
Every business needs to do some sort of marketing to generate revenues. With the changing times, when more and more businesses are going for having web presence, it becomes important for firms not to consider it a one time standalone activity. They fail to realize the benefits which online presence could provide to their businesses. And doing marketing over internet( which happens to be just another medium) can certainly makes their task very easy.
One parallel which could be drawn from real world marketing and taken over to internet marketing is “word of mouth” which in internet jargon is known as “Viral Marketing”.
There are many more such parallels which could be drawn between both the worlds. Basically whatever be the medium( internet or no internet), the marketing fundamentals don’t change

Internet Marketing is a start of New Era in the field of Commodity Business.
Not only qualified enterpreanurs and mba’s but a common man with a vision and jeal to do business can achieve new heights using this powerful Technique.
There is no need to be an expert to develop websites , adding plugins etc , instead one Can Leverage the existing infrastructure to market , sell and earn the way they want.
Take a simple example of ebay.com .. started as baazi.com , it has not only let an individual to sell or bid a product but it has led to the growth of thousdands of potential power sellers/nbuyers to do business in range of million Dollars.
So the bottomline is ” ground is ready , we need quality players and visionaries to exploit conditions and hit maximum Goals with existing weopons of technology ” and I assure you these weopons are going to be more lethal and easy to play in coming days.
That’s a decent piece of information on Internet Marketing. But don’t you think you are discussing a topic which has been rugged by now. Internet Marketing has been talked and exploited a lot and as far as its definition is concerned, we all know what “Marketing” stands for, be it on Internet or on any other medium.
Two phrases taken from the blog:

“Internet marketers do not sell products or do not perform any e-commerce activities. They also do not build websites for physical businesses to sell stuff on web.”
So do you mean Internet marketers are like advertisers, who use Web with their creative ideas to make their clients visible in the crowd?

Yes i agree the blog is discussing something which has been done to death all over the web. But you yourself said it, they are here to make their clients stand out in the crowd. As long as ‘man-kind’ buys and sells on web, internet marketers would be required.
And coming to the point why we are talking about it. When I started reading about imarketing on web, i stumbled upon people,sites who in veil of teaching you a thing or two, try to sell their ideas,services. It simply turned me off. I want this place to be ‘an academic epi-centre’ of imarketing. We have just started so just the defination, lots more to come.
