Leveraging web to deliver a Public service message
Posted by imark | Under Case Studies Friday Sep 26, 2008Its not only about the moolah, eyeballs, hits, PPC and revenue. That’s the beauty of the web. Why do marketing campaigns have to be selling you something? And why do not for profit campaigns have to be not so beautiful, effective and well carved out?
Ok, before you think I am promoting something, check out http://jaagore.com
One of the best campaigns i can think of in the recent past in the niche of social messaging. The idea and the implementation both are equally appealing.
Love to see the use of web for such purpose.
Also this is one of the rare campaigns in the Indian circuit which seamlessly blend a public service message with the commercial aspect of a product.
And lastly this is different in the aspect that their core platform is the web and they are using traditional medial to bring people to web and not vice-versa, which generally is the case.
Well done Tata! (The Industrial house behind this campaign)
And of course let’s vote.

i too liked the ‘jago re’ ad. but i do not agree with ur idea of using the web for public message delivering. tell me who does such an ad reach. it is a minor fraction of the entire population. that too people who are completely untouched by the ills facing india. can they engineer a revolution? if yes, are they willing to leave the comforts and take up something big?
Hey Rahi, how are you doing!
Of-course Internet users are still a minor fraction of the whole bunch. But if you take the opposite perspective, the majority of internet users are the more enabled, equipped and well off people, so they should get involved more than the other percentage of population. Which infact is not happening.
